Events Description

Events at the Delta Chamber of Commerce focus on the two primary needs of our members: networking and advocacy. The programming comes in three streams.

Connect

Connect events are fun, experiential and social in nature and allow members to network and build valuable relationships with other members such as:

  • networking and learning events hosted by specific companies at their work sites;
  • trade shows in the Spring or Fall;
  • Chamber Cafés, which are dialogue sessions on specific areas of business focus where the participants produce the outcome (World Café model);
  • Hats Off To Excellence Gala usually in early November;
  • the annual golf tournament usually in early July.

Inform

Inform events are opportunities for members to learn about and network around topics they say are important to them (e.g. transportation, port expansion, land use). They are usually monthly luncheons, sometimes breakfasts, and feature informed and engaging speakers presenting on business, political advocacy and community issues.

Grow

Grow events are focused on providing skills education, workshops and seminars, providing leading edge learning on business development to give a competitive edge to our members. One example is the series of workshops presented in conjunction with the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) on topics identified by members, ranging from financial planning and marketing to human resources and information technology.
