Federal All Candidates Meeting, Newton-North Delta Riding

October 1, 2008
North Delta Inn

Issues covered at a federal all candidates meeting for the Newton-North Delta riding included crime prevention, the national economy, support for families dealing with autistic children, needs of Indo-Canadian youth, among others. More than 50 people attended the meeting on Wednesday evening, October 1, at the North Delta Inn.

The Delta Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with co-sponsor, the Surrey Now newspaper, was honoured to hold this event dedicated solely to this riding and the people of North Delta, breaking a past practice of combining the two federal ridings in Delta for all candidates meetings.

Surrey Now Editor, Beau Simpson, posed the questions at the event. Delta Chamber Directors, Greg Muirhead, President, Bobby Pawar and Tudor Williams, with Executive Director, Peter Roaf, officiated during the 1½ hours of presentations and responses to written questions, in advance and from the floor.
